Take a look at www.kustomshop.com for flat hot rod paints

  2. Sometimes I jsut got say things people dont want to hear.

"Ratrod" aint Ole Skool. It was an gold chainer invention, 10 or 15 years ago.

The "ratty" non finshed hotrods from the 50s and 60s, where works in progress NOT a finished look. Well at least where Im from. Maybe the Brokeback CA rodders were a different thing.

When I went to school, our parking lots had NO ricer grinders, and the unfinished cars were in the garage or testing out at the track. They where painted and done before they hit the road.

We or my age group have put "rat" along with SBC and rice. Just another fad form kids that werent there.

Anyone see ONE primered car in American grafitti? Not even the poor Pharrohs used it. Next thing you know, you all will be sporting doo rags and pants around your knees, and saying its "rat"

  3. What makes the JD Blitz Black different from any other paint, why would it need to be stripped off. Could one use JD Gloss Black over it or a Primer Sealer and not have competly remove it.

Well just putting my two cents in. I'm not a painter, so I won't pretend that i am, but I really like the look of John Deere blitz black. I've also heard it referred to as pitch black, but am not sure if this is the same paint. I am a drag racer though and am looking forward to seeing the car. Does your customer run any of the southern street car deals (ORSCA, etc)?

Well the picture does not help much but you can see the color in the panel between the grille and the radiator. The outside of this truck is probably DP 90 and it was sprayed on there years ago.
