I just got official word that March Meet is cancelled for this weekend. It's being moved to next weekend. Good news for some, bad for others, but that's what mother nature decided.
This works out for me. The 15oz Coupe guy won't need to thrash so fast and hard. I'll make another pot of hell. See you all at the 'Patch next week. chili

this kinda blows, i seen woody and some of the denver boys last night here in bakersfield, they were pretty excited about runnin this weekend. i wonder what they're gonna do now, go home for a week and come back or just take and extended vacation. u think "someone" might try and help out the little guys and cover some of their cost or knock some of the fee's down
What a bummer.This would've been my last race for awhile & now I cant go period. I'm scheduled to have Total Shoulder replacement surgery the 14th so Im out.I'm a crewmember on a Nostalgia Funny Car & totally pissed that I'll miss that too. I'll sure miss seeing some old friends & meeting some new ones Ive talked to on the HAMB.You guys rock. In the meantime,I'll try & dig up some pictures when my dad raced there in the 50s & 60s,& maybe a story or 3. BTW,,I'll post one of my old man standing by his racer at Mel Larsons place as well. I just got back from bakersfield. I still had to go because I dropped my motor off to get built The forecast for Saturday is 100% chance of rain. I've never seen a forcast say 100% rain in my life. If it's raining on the weatherman, he still says 90%.
It is in style on this and other boards to badmouth the Good guys, and sometimes. they have earned it. They have crapped on the Vipers before, but they have showed REAL class in how they are handling this rain out. I must say the GGs are trying real hard. Give 'em a break. See you crazies there. I'm really bummed that HAMBer, Fuel Roadster can't make it. Not only is he my friend and Viper brother, but he is one of the best guys to hang with at the drags. Good news is I heard there is a MAJOR dog show in town the following weekend too!!! Should be plenty of excitement around town.
I didn't get the word, my wife and daughter tried to call me but I had a rack of blues going and didn't hear the phone. Found out when I got there. Some of the people were going to stay all week. There was already a pretty good crowd there. The GG felt real bad about it but not much they could do about it. I'll head down next weekend . I left the roadster in the trailer. Gary
I am just happy my pal Morgan got word in Denver and turned around. THere are some Rapid City guys that are out there already and not having fun. I think they decided to hit Vegas, its a long haul from us back here.
I met some guys that flew in from norway, and the tickets were bought on an employee type of discount so they have to fly back out today. that hadda suck. we close escrow on our house on friday, the wife asked when we were gonna start movin and i said monday after the drags. LOL told her we cant move all ur crap by ourselves and everyone else is gonna be at the races.
What's the story for this weekend? Just watched the news and they're saying rain Fri,Sat into Sun. Mother Natures a fuckin' tree hugger .
The official word from the powers-that-be is: The March Meet is on for this weekend, March 17-19. We will not call off the event early like we did last week. The forecast is much better with only a slight chance for scattered showers Friday and Saturday and Sunday look clear. Again, unlike last week we will not be calling off the event prior to it starting. We will do everything in our power to get the race in this weekend Thank you! If anything changes we will notify all participants by telephone again
That make two shows this weekend in the valley. Fresno Autorama friday march meet saturday. this is gona be a Kick ass weekend
