Not sure which direction to go. Rat or rod?

Good starting point, sell those rear wheels and tires and get some to match the front. I will say I am not a fan of that way laid back grille, but you can fix that easily enough.

NO RAT!!!! get some matching wheels for the back and some pie crust slicks, it will change the whole look instantly. and wont be trapped into another car fad...

  7. Nice start for sure !!!

You mentioned rat so I'll say you need ideas.

The front frame jutting straight out against the swoop of the rockers makes me want to give up.

The grill is laid back too far but they did that to keep the top even with the cowl. Unfortunately the cab is nestled quite low compared to the front crossmember. The front Z again.

Gotta agree with 31Vicky, might want to think about looking for a 35 to 40 frame to put all the suspension parts, Cab, and bed on.....it would make tremendous difference.

The truck came with a flathead that needs total rebuild. And a chevy 350 fresh build with triple holey carb setup. 350 trans installed, 10 bolt 4 ink in rear,4.56 posi. Also ford 9 3/8 rear 3.25 gears open. Lots of little stuff

Shoot for some thing like this and you will have a timeless bad *** truck.

NailHead Jason hit the nail on the head with his 2nd pic. Do that, it's perfect.

I love fenderless 35 36 trucks. But they got to be done right or they look really disproportionate.

I generally hate rudys, but I actually LIKE this! Like the Lucas Tri-bars on there too, its not trying to be a pseudo-traditional hot rod, it is what it is! Ballsy, I like it.
