Does anyone know how to determine which steering wheels will bolt-up to which columns? Essentially, I'm looking for a cross-reference of makes/models/years. The steering wheel on my '51 Cadillac is shot and I'm wondering what wheels would have the same bolt pattern (e.g., would other GM makes/models/years bolt-up without modification or adapter).

There is more to it, that just having the correct spline count. (on that age of car)

The back part of the wheel center is often shaped to fit a certain shape of the column bell.

Also, a given wheel could have the correct spline, but sit too high up and leave a gap at the column top, or the other way around; might not "reach to the splines" because the offset is different.

Thanks, I suspected that is probably the case.
