  2. Thanks fellas! It feel great to be near done and back cruising!

lbcd, a buddy who works on boats had some adhesive backed, hollow, double-D rubber seal material which tears nicely down the middle. What I ended up with was an open D about 3/16 wide and 1/4 tall? It worked perfectly and so I used it around the doors as well.

Middlebury FAC and Ford update 017.JPG My 46 coupe that I have worked on and off on since 2005. I have to step up the work as my wife asked 9 years ago when she was going to get a ride in it and I said in a couple years. Open heart surgery set me back, really no excuses now. Doing just a stock rebuild now, Will play with the engine after it is running.

  10. Puffin' my chest out a bit here, but I had to show the rear 3/4 (best angle of these cars?). It's raining today so I took the opportunity to glue down the trunk rubber (trunk's not closed here). On to the garnishes and vent windows, then finish the running boards (rubber's not glued down yet), etc., etc..

It IS gorgeous! I know you had some difficulties during the build but the end result looks fantastic.

Thanks Butch, it's been around. I put it on the road in 97 and it now has 95K on it.

  20. Judging by your avatar phat, you've babied your coupe for all those miles - right? I like it - a lot!

Thanks! It has been a crazy ride. I Hate to even bring this up...but about 4 weeks ago while sitting in the trunk with the deck lid up installing the 42 handle trim it tried to kill me! Santa Ana winds lifted the lid up and it came down on my head...herniation L5-S1. Surgery to repair it last week and off work for 4 weeks. Looking into gas shocks for the deck lid now. [emoji107]

I have gas shocks on the trunk lid of my cpe. I'll look tomorrow and see where I got them from and if they have them for sedans.

I'm just posting because I just made my maiden voyage in this scrap heap special.... Do all FoMercurys with the rotary hydraulic shocks drive like elephants on roller skates or has all the fluid leaked out of them? :p

    lbcd, here's where I got mine. http://www.mr40s.com/mr.-40-s-stuff.html
Thanks for the compliments. The cpe was in Street Rodder in 99 and again in 2001. The one you are remembering is probably when it was in R&C in 06
