Cool pics! Were you there? That's my trailer & rig just behind the '58. Owner of the '58 is a long time friend & practically a neighbor...live only about 8 miles apart!

Thanks Enloe! We were both in C/Gas so it was a heads-up run. From start to finish the race was .001 sec apart...one thousandth! We were lookin' at each other all the way down the track!

It was a fun day! Going to Silver Dollar Raceway in South/Central Georgia first week of June, instead of Atlanta, with the SNDR! (Southeast Nostalgia Drag Racing group) Come on down!

That's a nice one Baron. I can remember how cheap those Corvettes were back in the 80s.

Six tail lights an a manafree. That's a cool car. It has that down in the weeds look but I bet that it pins you back in the seat when you get on the go pedal.

1956 Corvette American Racing five spokes on the rear and Lemans flat spokes on the front, magnesium wheels, gum dipped firestones 2 four barrels. From the San Francisco area. I always liked this one. It belongs to a Hamb member.

Loudbang, those are Corvette Grand Sports. Tube chassis '63 coupes, 2400 lbs, built by Chevrolet and then given to certain racers. I THINK two were modifies as roadsters. One was destroyed and four exist today, IF my memory is still working. Read the book Chevrolet Racing by Paul Van Vulcanberg for the full scoop.

  23. I had a 57 Vette I wanted to do this to but I sold it to a friend 40 years ago as a pristine stocker (which it still is to this day).

But another friend bought a 57 Gasser body that I really wanted and hasn't touched it in 40 years!

Oh Well... he said he'll get around to it some day...

I claim no responsibility for this Corvette. This is what it looked like before it was restored to NCRS specs. It's now black with knock-offs with leather interior and every single part from front to back replace. Driving a 396/425hp makes me feel young again!
