Chitty Chitty Bang Bang flew I think...Perhaps the first Woodie:D
Yes it is definately one of a kind. I think wicker was mentioned. There was one other car back a few pages that had slats of wood but this one is a bit more fancy...
That era or period did have a lot of really wild innovation some quite ahead of its time and timeless.

I'm not sure that's wicker....kind looks like it's been 'folded' over the top, and flat in some places....I'm almost inclined to think it's some kind of thin rubber/fiber sheet ...or heavy cloth...folded over itself on a frame in layered folds....at the bottom of the door opening, it's a bit wider fold too. Heck, if I'd know what material it is...sure is interesting though:confused::D

  7. I just googled the photo, and it seems that after an accident, Joseph Poirer repaired his car using wicker, because metal was too expensive. Who's going to build the first wicker hot rod?

Don't feel to bad I think a good percentage of people this way don't know what the heck I'm driving either.
With questions like what is it or is it original after I tell them its a 29 Ford.
I understand this as it is what...80 something years old after all.
Hey just ask if they know of any more jeeps that are sorta like that tucked in a barn somewhere.

Now that is a good idea. There is loads of old American muscle stashed away here, from the Clark Air Force Base days, so maybe something more interesting lies squirrelled away somewhere. :)

The last one (or two) it's weird, but appealing. But it's borderline RR, but some hammer and dolly work and a fair amount of rustolium and that could be good enough.
