    No worries chub.

Has anyone fabbed a linkage straight to the gas pedal instead of the carb linkage???????

Sounds possible, but I myself don't know of any. Closest could be in a Pontiac, Hudson, Nash, maybe even a GMC or Chevy truck. Most went to all these levers and bellcranks, making it more sofisticated and complex to get it right.

    hope this helps-

this is off my 57 olds which shares the same setup and still has the factory solution-
it actually takes two bell cranks- the gold rod in the back is the feed from the pedal and the grey one with the temp sender through it is your return to the lever.

    good luck

I know this is old but I have some insight into this subject. The fulcrum for the TV rod is 2.25" from pivot and 1.375 forward of the pivot. (both of these spec's are critical). The factory adjustment is to push the TV rod as far to the rear of the car as possible and align the trunion with the linkage hole, this is the starting adjustment point. Now the factory manual says to then, loosen the rear jam not so that you have about 3/8 of a gap, then with the front jam nut spun till it is touching the trunion, tighten 3 full turns. Now tighten the rear jam nut, making sure the trunion is at a 90deg angle from the throttle plate.
I found that my transmission TV rod needed to be even tighter than this adjustment, but it was a good jumping off point

Thanks for the info Zac. I eventually got all this worked out. I am currently running a Carter 4bbl, but not a stock carb. I wound up using a Lokar dual cable setup for the throttle and tv. The tv is 1.25" below the pivot and the throttle cable is about an inch above that. They are pretty much in line vertically. This is obviously not a factory setup, but it gives the correct travel for both the throttle and tv and it drives and shifts up and down pretty awesome.

And stealthcruiser, I've got all your manuals. They were a great read and very informative. I really appreciate that. If you're coming to Shadyside, I'll bring them and you can pass them on to the next moron who knows nothing about hydramatics, lol. :D

Could you possibly take some detail pics of both trans and carb connections? And if you recall, the Lokar part # ??
I've got a '57 Cad 365 and hydra matic combo in my '30 coupe and the previous owner installed the trans with no kick down. Shift points are way off. Any help is appreciated, thanks.
