Ridiculous policies like that make my blood boil. What possible benefit could there be by s****ing that? They should happily accept a 'donation' in place of the 's****'. It would even be less work for them since they wouldn't have to haul it away. BTW, Cedar & Herndon, Saturday 8am. Be there and we can plan a 'liberation' of that worthless s****. ;) :D

How I handle this kind of thing is grab as much as you can as fast as you can and worry about the other issues later.Rent a trailer if you have to!!

Research and Motor octane methods both use a test engine. The Motor method uses a preheated fuel mixture, so this one looks like it's capable of that test.

That is a CFR engine for testing octane.

It is too bad about the banger, they shouldn't s**** that piece. I don't know much but I'm pretty sure the French use something like this to make coffee.

This post reminds me of a scene in a Ft Bragg motor pool 20 years ago. They were tossing new 5 gallon steel jerry cans. Being replaced with plastic. Motor pool Sgt said take all you want. I loaded up about 25. I was doing him a favor!

  12. Seriously, if you could put a price on them, what are they worth, besides what the market will bear and how badly do you want them.

I work for a goverment agency and the laws for aquisition and disposal of ***ests is very specific. This is because long dead crooked *******s screwed the taxpayers in every concievable manner. That does not mean a new generation of crooked *******s don't bteak the rules, but with a " 1 strike, your out " policy they don't last long at my place of employment.
These ***holes have ruined it for everyone else.

I am honestly starting to wonder if I am going to even get any....so many close calls that have come to nothing, it's starting to feel like I am chasing unicorns.

  17. Boy , I would grab that sun tester and have it sitting in the middle of my living room with the rest of our antiques.I bought this at a antique shop a few years back .I cant even get $25. for it.So it sits in my shop.I use it on my old cars i am working on once in a while.I also got a funky old timing light.I will have to see if I can find a picture of that. They cleaned the shop out and a lot of the teaching cutaways are just thrown outside. However, the Sun machines and the cutaway A banger were gone. I guess I wasn't the only one that had my eye on them. Bummer. At least someone saved them and they didn't go to the bone yard.

Glad to hear someone snagged the cutaway 4 banger. It would look at home in an auto museum.

I don't understand why everything has to be carefully certified into the landfill in these situations to keep people from stealing it. Seems that a simple 'surplus auction' would solve that issue and bring in some income. Local school district does that here and the money goes back into the district fund. Basically, the taxpayers come out and bid on the surplus items that their taxes bought decades ago.

They were all spoken for before they even got here, nudge, nudge, wink, wink. And yes, I have wood right now!:D

I'm pretty sure all the "good" stuff is stored indoors somewhere on campus. Everything they left out is worth s**** value EXCEPT the neat little metal lathe they left outside. Forget the make off hand but probably 50's era. I'm sure it's spoken for but if it sits much longer...
