    Good morning fellow Hambers!

My 61 364 Nailhead had the long water pump and I recently acquired a new 62+ WP at a swap. It appears to fit (bolt holes all line up) which is surprizing given I was told that I would have to swap to a later timing cover too.

Is there something inside that I can't see lining up?

The crank pulley is twin row. Is there a WP pulley that will simply bolt on and align with the correct V depth and width?

Any SBC parts compatible? I see chrome pulleys on Summit for around $40.

Dimensions from the removed pulley: ImageUploadedByH.A.M.B.1463481310.844406.jpg

    Thanks in advance!!!

Thanks 51box that looks simple enough! There appears to be about 10mm (apologies again for metric!!) from the pulley mounting face on the WP spindle to the back edge of the crank pulley which looks similar to yours.

Check you gasket side on the pump and housing. I believe they are different.

Not the best picture, but maybe some help. This is a 66 425 short pump, originally with a/c. No extra pulleys but do have original alternator/a/c compressor mount if it is any help.

So that one looks like what I need. Any chance you could throw a scale on that please Canuck and tell me the offset of the forward pulley row from the pulley mounting face?

From front face of pulley groove, top pulley is ~~ 3/16" to front mounting surface. Bottom pulley is ~~ 2 3/26" to front face of pulley groove fron front mounting surface inside pulley.

These are both 66 Riv with A/C pulleys, Still have the alternator mount/AC mount if they are any help.

on the left is an aluminum 401-425 TC. on the right is a cast iron one off of a 364. Notice the rectangular area on the right side of each, its longer on the aluminum one. Using the wrong water pump on either will cause a big leak.

Thanks EZ Cool!! I overlaid the gasket as aarestor suggested and discovered exactly this.

So..... Anyone got a nice clean 62 - 65 timing cover at a decent price?

I have stuff to swap if you have what I'm looking for:

'52 Dana 44 rear end or...
    '57 T Bird front buckets or ...
Model A front axel with spindles and unsplit bones

I'm not running power steering but would like to keep the AC option open. Does that mean I would only need a two row pulley; and can take that additional row off the crack pulley? I need to pull that one anyone to swap the timing cover.
