While rebuilding a 32 3 Window Coupe I found the stickers shown in the photo inside the body, does anyone have any history regarding this company, I believe the body is likely to have been made in the late 80's. Thanks
VWT was in Wolcott CT. They are no longer in business. They sold the molds etc to OutLaw in PA quite a few years ago. The name came from the first project they did. A 1926/27 T roadster on a modified VW floor pan. Used a tube front axle and cur down 32 Ford Grill. The Fellows who owned and ran the company are Jim and Frank Briglia. Last I knew they are both in CT. I used to go by there on Saturdays when they were in business. If you have any other questions I may be able to help. PM me.
Actually, these bodies were built in the late 70's I believe they were the first company to offer a chopped 3W , in fact they were one of the first to offer a closed car. "Ai" was also very early with a closed car, I still have a VWT 3W body in the barn. the VWT booth at the 78 Nats in Ohio was one very busy place. the original price was a stagering $2,800.00, a lot of guys laughed and said who could ever afford to spend that kind of money on just a body ! ( and that goes to prove even though things change,.......... they stay the same ! )
