im hoping some one has a shoebox here thats bagged and the rear lays on the ground cuz this question is for you

im running 6.40x15's and a super notch in the rear, am i going to have to cut out the tops of my rear wheel wells, if my measurements are correct it looks like it, but im hoping i dont have to.

    anyone here know for sure?

and just reinforce the rear package tray and surounding areas?...did you do this to yours? and if so, what did you use to close it back up? i dont wanna just leave it, and i certainly dont wanna waste 30 man hours reshaping inner wheel wells if there is a faster option

I second the trailer fenders...tough, cheap, and simple to modify:

My buddy and I did his 49 and yes we most definately did have to cut and raise the rear wheel wells. I can't see any way around it if you want it to lay out right. Unless you want to run a 13" wheel. "Yeah, they 13's, but I keep em clean"

i like the trailer fender method.havnt used it yet thow .here at my shop and guys i know we've been cuttin the well wells at the base and razin them up and then fillen in the metal thats missing.its alot of work.both the chevys and the fords you gota do it to lay out.the next one we do here at the shop well try the trailer fender seems like it be faster.

Have bagged 54 and 52 chevys I would imagine a 50 would be close to being the same about the only way you can get them to lay without cuttin the rear fenders out it to run a really small rear tire. I did a 50 ford and it layed without cutting but it has 165-15 on it. I think it looks kinda silly. But it works for him, so Im happy. Hes happy everybodys happy. The driveline seems to hit before the tires do a tunnel and some minor rear seat reworking should do the trick.
