Hey Gang I managed to pick this 1928 Roadster up the other day, after a wee bit of searching, this was local to me in Inglewood, although it has a few issues to get fixed, ie stick welded exhausts, leaking fuel lines, stick welded pedal ***embly etc and wiring that is about as understandable as Atomic Engineering by text- I am still glad I have another roadster, I just sold my 29 Rolling Bones as health issues may hinder me in a year or two after suffering a mild heart attack, and I want to be able to at least get to be able to drive a Roadster out here in So Cal before I put my own Cue in the rack! So, here we are, the Roadster was about for a while but mostly been sat in a garage, but I plan on changing the style to how I want it, that means no fenders later, but will ride with them for a while as they do look very cool. I will not be keeping the top, I know they are rare but I live in California and not needed really, and if I did need one I wouldn't want to cut this up as its too good as it has all the side aprons etc. I plan on a few things, and the HAMB helps me find parts as I am hoping to eventually fit a 36 dash, chopped windshield, 32 Grill, f1 steering, Nerf bars, and I have Columbia 2 speed rear to fit in it later. I have been in the Hamb for many years but mainly on the side lines as I run a Cl***ic Motorcycle business, but also sell Hot Rod parts too. I will be offering a discount to HAMB members later when I develop more parts for Hot Rods too. This 1928 Model A has some great potential, from the outside she looks great but just a few bad welding issues that I must rectify, hoping to be able to at least drive it to TROG later in the year, so wish me luck. Thanks to Hamb members I have already found some parts to get me on the way. Just thought I would share. Have a Great weekend.
I'd do all the mechanical things your concerned about and then drive the **** out of it!!! The car is gorgeous just like it sits! Tim
Cheers all, this coming week I shall be addressing the issues that makes the car ok to drive, I may of found an F1 box and I believe I can buy a Walker Radiator to fit a 32 grill shell etc, The linkage is ****ed completly nut hope to re-route it as only the middle Stromberg is functioning, will be so glad to get the bugs out as all I want to do is drive it. Thanks for all the kind words and encouragement.
That is super cool. Sometimes health issues have a way of kicking you in the *** and seeing what is really important. I'm glad you're ok and hope you have many years of fun in your new toy!
Just like you plan I'd be driving the **** out of your new toy. It really looks great and I hope you have huge fun in it. Cheers DB Sent from my SM-N9005 using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Very nice indeed!......that sweet little car is pure 'eye candy' and definitely an eye-catcher! Fantastic find, and humbly admit...that I am just little bit jealous!
Oh my. Save your 32 grille for your next 32. That thing is perfect. Any changes will detract instead of enhance. What a perfect looking period rod.
Hey Murf- Roadster needs more work than I first saw but I will get there, looking for 32 grill now but I love the ABone.
