Just saw this one the other day, I also like the one where barney buys a car (a shoe box ford I think)and it turns out to be a dud, the steering shaft comes out at him like a snake charmer snake with that type music playing while driving down the road also seem to remember Aunt Bee having a 55/56 ford convertible??? been a long time since Ive seen those episodes but I always enjoy seein the old fords on the street, especially the early 60s galaxie wagons..... Thanks for sharing!
I used the Cabrio for my avatar my first year on the Hamb. I eventually made contact with the guy who owns that very car.
Low budget: The second picture is the one where goober tore the car apart and rebuild it inside the sheriffs office. That is a funny episode as well
In a couple of the episode you will notice an impala or biscayne in the background. The funny thing about that is the credits say automobiles provided by ford motor company. We are huge Andy Griffith fans and have all the seasons. Sent from my A520L using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Every so often there is a 56 or 59 Chevy parked on a street. Of course, all of the Police cars are new Fords. Makes it easy to know when each episode was filmed. Would love to have a 34 Cabriolet. Looks like a stocker on the show, but sounds pretty good. Perhaps the engine sound was dubbed in, but it matches the video really well.
Also when Barney and Floyd go on the fishing trip and run out of gas is Floyd's car which is a 30's Chevy Sedan. I love that car.
