I just brought her home. A complete runner less the radio, master cylinder, trunk lock and battery. After I get it running I'll get a better feel for its future but for now, I'm thinking a pretty lean trip between the shop and the road. Time will tell. Perfect glass, floor and trunk repairs and over all just good for its age. Those wheels are a gas, I'm thinking early 70's olds but somehow I can see them working with red lines and spyder caps.. we'll see. My never again turned into a squirrel.
371, ps,pb. wild period factory old mags from the 70's, some glove compartment goodies,a mystery car club decal and some fun ahead. I dont see slamming it but lower profile tires and a bit of a rake, kinda surfer 60's style.
What's I got under the hood? Its a nice looking car, for me it would be black steelies and dog dish hubcaps but I am a goof ball. LOL dueling posts I guess I should have been more patient.
Like many 1960 automobiles, the 1960 Olds already embodies many custom design elements, and responds well to simple lowering and paint. ...And the rear quarters are perfect for Bellflower pipes!
Yea you posted that while I was posting my question. Lost of dress up and speed parts for that motor. They can be found reasonable if you are patient.
Love the note from the glove box slamming someone for being "shitty at parking that sled". Even with power steering it might take two tries to get that long car in a spot straight.
Hope this posts... I fired it up today on a jerry can. A little carb cleaner and presto.. instant ignition ( almost).. https://www.facebook.com/LedSledLon...f_t=video_processed¬if_id=1464036938523823
Neat car....love the decal. The wheels are early 70s full sized Olds...like 1971 to 73 or so...I always like them...they fit that cars style well..
They're not traditional but I agree they have a look that works. Some spyder caps instead and some fresh paint and beauty rings with some red lines... yeah baby. Sent from my SM-T530NU using H.A.M.B. mobile app
Some fresh tires for rolling it around in the shop. I'm waiting for a PB booster to show up, then I can get into the brakes again. Eventually those wheels will go.
Any olds guys out there ever use one of these speedway boosters? http://www.speedwaymotors.com/8-Inch-Dual-Brake-Booster,9557.html
What a great car to turn into a mild Kustom.....please use those provided pics for inspiration...beautiful GM piece right there
That's a low compression 371, about 8.5:1. You could always change out pistons for 1959 371 pistons and get 30 -40 hp right there. Put a 394 4bbl and intake and you get another 20 hp. Lastly, ditch the DC hydramatic and put a slant pan hydro out of 54-56 Olds.
seeing more of these at car shows here in California.... Very nice mild customs. keep us posted on the brakes... i had my stock MC rebuilt, would like to do a front disk set up.
I've got the booster in for rebuild now. A used tank to slip under her and then its time to investigate the wiring. Basic stuff is working but the rest... eeks!
Very fond of these '60 Olds'. Did a ton of work on one, for a close friend of mine. Rebuilt Engine, transmission and brake system. She Runs like a top!! He eventually bailed on the project, then sold it to another close friend. So, glad it is still in the family. Those hubcaps/wheels are super rare!! Do not throw them away!! [/IMG] JT

Man how summer gits in the way of playtime. I did install a factory radio, found a tank that's ready to strap in and finally the brake booster arrived from Oregon. Maybe by next week end I can have the stop and go parts installed.
Been gitting it dun! Gas tank installed and flowing, master and booster installed, now doing new wheel cylinders and lines. Wiring almost all working. Radiator filled and tested. All windows now working proper like. After this, a tune up and road test.
