Just wanted to share some photos from the Hot Rod Resurrection on Saturday, at Old World Village in Huntington Beach. It was a very nice location, an old German theme shopping/restaurant center with tight little streets (packed with cars) and quaint shops and eateries. The weather was nice, sunny with a light wind, t-shirt weather. I hate to venture a guess how many cars were there, it wasn't that large, but big enough. The Ace's Car Club hosts this event, and they tend to draw more traditional rods and custom's, not too many street rods or rat rods, though there were a few of each, but mostly traditional styled cars, and some real nice ones too. My friends band, the Hot Rod Trio, provided entertainment, rockabilly style. It was a nice day of hot rods and sunshine and beer (you can't go to a German village and not have beer).
That is one really nice batch of photos of some real interesting cars and trucks. Thanks also for taking the time to show photos of the interesting engines and details that don't always show up in the walk by and click photos.
Thanks for the kind words. One reason I take so many pics when I go to these is I tend to miss a lot of things while I'm there, for whatever reason I just don't notice them. Maybe too much stimulous at one time. But later on when reviewing the pics I see lot's of things I missed, and that's always cool. I tend to wish I took more pics, so since they're digital and there's no development cost I just snap away.
Great Pics! The Black Model A Roadster with the Marine Steering Wheel ( I Believe Kiekhaefer Mercury ) is wicked cool, takes me right back to being a Kid. Have not seen a Steering Wheel like that in a long time.
I really dug this T roadster. Looks like an older build, maybe fairly recent paint, but obviously not obsessed over. I like the simplicity, the low buck approach, just a fun rod, not an attempt at making a show winner. That actually makes it more desirable to me.
