    Hi all.
Just wondered if anyone on here could give me any tips on the best place to find a pair of 39 ford pickup front fenders???
just starting a build and after buying the cab..hood...running boards....and front fenders un***embled then putting it together I found my hood and sides are about 6 inches shorter than fenders!!!!!!

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    regards Damon....{gonzo}

it looks to me like those MAY be the rear fenders mounted up front. What sort of frame is that?

They look like fronts. Will take a picture of mine for you if you would like.

g'day from another aussie...the bonnet sides look to be off a 39 beerbarrel model....sorta explains the shortness and I suppose the bonnet (hood) is like wise and the front guards look to be rear ones as others have said....
from what I can see of the grille it sorta looks like a beerbarrel but missing the skirts that surround it...explaining the shortness.....but....I could be wrong.

Do both fenders have that weld joint across the front? If so I bet those are rear fenders "bobbed" to eliminate the running boards. Is the mounting flange vertical? Like it would attach to the bed side. Are there signs of running board attachment holes in the lower rear edges?
Yah, profile looks like a rear fender.

Yes, those are rear fenders with bits added next to the grille, which throws everything else off. Toss them and get real fronts.

Or are they off a big truck and really bobbed at the back?

In any case it's not the hood sides. This is the target:

A Ford ch***is would help too. Is that a Toyota, Mazda or something?

Hi x38.....mate thanks so much for the help on whats going on with these fenders......I was worried about the welded infill sections next to grill shell.....I,m in the clear now though so thank you very much....
Unsure exactly what ch***is its on as its how I got it.....owner had been killed in an accident and his wife wanted it gone so I got no info.......I,ll have no chance finding a stock ch***is where I live though I know that......

I'm not 110% certain about this yet.

And 35 - 40 ch***is aren't that hard to find. BTW that's car ch***is, which is what you want for a half ton pickup.

We have no idea where you live!

The thing that really had me ******ed is the fact they bolted right up to the original cab mounting holes etc with not a h***le but are just physically so much bigger......that's whats had me wondering if the truck fenders are just a bigger version of the pickup and that's what ive got here.......they just don't seem like rear fender shape.......and running board mounting holes are in rear of these too...........now I,m really worried haha.......that grey pickup is cool

Mate that's all big truck stuff on a Jap Ute ch***is you need to work out where your going with this as a p***enger car ch***is still won't fix your situation without you get a set of pickup front fenders and in this country you will find that extremely difficult
