last week I broke in the cam and yesterday I drove it a couple of miles...first time it's been driven since 01'. afterwards I parked it in front of my house and sat in the shade with my wife with a few beers just staring at her...she's exactly how I've always envisioned a 55' G***er. it's not completely done, and i've got to go to AAA and get her registered but it's all gravy from here on out.
Did everything myself (cept the machine work...cedar machine in MN), every weld, rebuit the ******, built the motor, replaced the floors, all wiring, brakes, fuel lines, blah, blah, too much to list everything.

Was only last night that I watched the episode of Roadkill where they drove the 55 g***er 2500 miles across the US. Your car looks better than theirs!! Have fun with it.

thanks toqwik, I was on a plane a month or so ago and struck up a conversation with the guy sitting next to me (he noticed my car on the screen saver). he asked me if I could have any car in the world what would it be and afer thinking about it, I told him I have my dream car. I wouldn't trade if for anything. How lucky am I?

    hey splitbudaba,
the headers are coated with some kind of epoxy coating I had done at a local shop in Concord CA..expensive and it's starting to come off, so I'm not thrilled with the results
