Can anyone tell me the formula for calculating how many Gallons a gas tank will hold. I know it is Lenght x Width x Height.......Divided By ???? That is the part I don't know.
^^^^ yes it is, was using that calculation the other day actualy (to figure out how much resin i needed to fibergl*** a stock headliner, of all things
Krusty40 is right 213 cubic inches to the gallon. So if your gas tank was 8" tall X 18" deep X 36" wide =5184 cubic inches. 5184 cubic inches/231=22.44 gallons. Get the idea. Don
But,....seeing as how Mr. Fleetline is North of the border, he will have to add 20% to change it to Imperial gallons.
You got it - here's a link to a handy little conversion calculator - converts damn near anything to damn near anything else! http://joshmadison.net/software/ You want convert.exe
How's this? L x W x H in cm. Will give you volume in cubic cm. 1 cc = 1 ml. Divide volume by 1000, will give you liters. Divide that again by around 4.4 for gallons....... I hate metric...
From a fitters handbook: Elliptical tanks. C=Capacity in gallons.L=Length.W=Width.H=heighth When measurements are in inches: C=(WxHx.7854)xL/231 In feet:C=(WxHx.7854)xLx7.48
