Watch yourselves if you deal with an outfit called Parts Geek. I went on their site for the little "peanut" bulbs for gauge lights and ended up paying $12.00 for one bulb. They show an image of ten bulbs and out to the side the amount. It looks like one pack of ten but it ain't. It should've raised a flag when I read that there was no canceling orders. They said that was a "stock" picture. They know what they're doin. It's just $12 bucks and it's my fault for not reading the fine print but it may be that they pull the old "bait and switch" on other, more expensive items so just be careful if you deal with them.

You're better off going led for that price. There's a guy on eBay that only does dash lights. I needed the shift indicator bulbs for a 96 civic and I got all of them for a few dollars. I don't remember his name.

If it's the little bulb that goes behind a gauge, try the parts store. They're only a few bucks.

Cancel the purchase with your credit card. Tell the card it was fraud.

How is a customer not reading the fine print fraud? I went to their website and there's nothing out of the ordinary.

I'm not going to their website (I'd probably catch something), but I ***umed the purchaser had read all the description and it didn't see it was only one bulb. I guess it's not really fraud then.

When you goulgle "replacement bulbs for gauge lights 1980 chevy" (OT) one of the first images that pops up is of ten bulbs and a price of 2.14. They are 4.99 for two at the part store and I needed ten. I didn't think it was a great stretch to pay 12 bucks (online) in lieu of 20 retail. Lesson learned. My point is that they know what they are doing and I don't want anyone else to make a "contribution."

Having been on the store side of these issues.

It really is just a stock photo. ALWAYS ***ume the item in the picture is not what you're getting unless it's written in the description and that the quan***y is always one unless specified.

I've had customers order a wheel with the description stating price was for each then complaining that a car has 4 wheels and why would anyone just need 1?

If it's not written down, don't ***ume that's what you're getting.

That would be sweet but it would bring me down to their level. I try to do everybody right. The sad thing is that I'm not the first and won't be the last. $12.00 for one little bulb? They know what they're doin.

Hmmm. I have gotten things from Parts Geek. Never bulbs. I got what I expected. I might contact customer service on that one.

The internet sure makes it hard for the retail ****roaches to hide these days. That's a good thing. The word of mouth advertising is always the best, their reputation has preceded them. I always make a special point to never buy anything from folks like that.

    Thanks for the heads up.

I'll take Slack at his word. I won't deal with them or any one that feels $12 is a fair price for one dash bulb.

I notice that when punching 'Rock Auto', sometimes I am led to the 'Parts Geek'.
No matter, I bought a '79 Dodge radiator (the hot setup for 350 Chev in F100)
...I say 'hot' but the aluminum thang keeps the temp RIGHT AT 180*, with a 195* thermostat.
So I guess that makes it the 'cool setup'!

Good service so far, aluminum water pump, nice...compe***ively priced.
As others have said: READ carefully. The buck you save...may be mine.

    ^^^^^^^^how does a 195* thermostat result in a 180* operating temp?

The bulb price itself is a little high, but not ridiculous, but the $10 for shipping is crazy!

Just watch when you buy stuff on Amazon.....there's a thread on a car site here in UK warning of people being charged for Amazon prime when they have bought stuff and not noticed that there's a small box already ticked which basically means you have agreed to buy Amazon prime just cos you didn't notice the box was ticked. They have been warned by courts here in UK to cease this practise but it still happens.

You have to watch the shipping anytime you order online. RockAuto is a great price to buy parts cheaper than most chain parts stores, but if you have a big order that ships from different locations that discount can go out the window fast. Found this out on some brake parts I bought from them, by the time I paid shipping from 3 warehouses, I could have went to NAPA or O'Reilly's and spent less.
