Id like to see a reasonably decent list in one place. Primarily what post war to current models work on the pre all steel stuff.

If you want to start a list, we used a four door Dodge Omni roof for a 34 five window coupe once.

My favorite on the square roof sedans is the 63-64 dodge/plymouth wagon roof. It has a group of 11 indent lines running front to back down the middle. Next best is 63-64 chevy wagon for the sedans. Vega wagon works great on a model A coupe.....just use the ribbed part. Pinto works great on a 3 window 32 coupe....turn it sideways. Steve

58 ford 4 door sedans w the indentations fit like a glove on a 33/34 sedan. should also work on a 32 or 35/36 as well.

think moparsled rt. about Maverick, fits great on A coupes turned backards, gives a nice smooth contour. Also good for duce coupes.Best smooth top for a sedans I've seen are early suburbans, again turn it backwards.

OK, good stuff so far, keep it coming. How about 26-7 Model T coupes?

Ive no project needing one right now but figured it would be helpful to many to get a nice list and put it in Techomatic.

How about modern vehicles? Not too much 60's stuff left in the boneyards in many parts of the country.

A friend of mine has used Volvo 245 stationcar roofs to fill model A and 32 sedans!! They fit great, and are pretty easy to find!! :)

77 Mustang worked great for my 32 Plymouth,I am sure it would be good for a "A" also.

I used a '49 baby Lincoln, same as a four door Merc, turned backward on my '32 5 window. It fit like a glove...

The front 2/3 of a 1968 suburban roof turned around works great on a 30-31 model A Tudor sedan,it's smooth and doesn't have reinforcing ribs and the curvature front to back and side to side is great.

A friend of mine just used a roof panel out of a mid 70's Camarobird to fill the roof on a 30-31 coupe. If you want the smooth look it looks great and fits like a glove.

A second series Camero roof worked perfect on a 1933-34 Chevy 3Window. I've been saving a '56 Buick roof for something, maybe an A sedan.

    I've done 2 '29 Ford coupes. One used a 66-67 Chevelle 4dr truned around. The other used a 67 Caprice 4dr.

I have also been involved with the 67-72 suburbun roof for a 29 Ford Sedan, but it didn't have a very good curve front to back. Required making a couple of slits.

Anyone know what to put in a 33-34 Ford Sedan?

  20. On the Maverick, are you talking about a 4-door?

  21. Seem to be a lot of chopped up early 50s Merc more doors around. Made a dang nice fill for my 30 Coupe.

A friend of mine used a late 70's and early 80's Malibu wagon for his '34 Pontiac sedan and another person used the same type of roof for his '32 tudor thay work pretty good.

83 and up porsche 944 roof fits like a glove in a 30-31 A pickup if you use one with a sunroof it looks like you never filled it with the insert out.

Someone thought the roof panel on this '57 Ford Courier 2dr panel wagon was good for something else. Can't really see, but it is cut completely out. Otherwise, it's pretty solid, with no rust.

AMC Eagle wagon on a '32 Ford Tudor, try to get one without the roof rack to save some fix-it time.

Toyota van works well for a 28/29 A model sedan.

Deck lid skin for a 33-34 ford coupe made from a aircooled VW bug roof, but turned 90 degrees. In other words, one side of the lid is the front of the roof and the other side is the back. I did not do it, I saw it on a site. Looked perfect.

  29. I saved a '72 Pontiac and a '64 Pontiac roof skins for whatever, don't know if they'll fit anything in particular. The '72 is a post sedan, most 71-76 GM fullsize sedans should be the same (hardtops are different). The '64 is really flat.

Those '57 Ford sedan deliveries are pretty scarce, I thought about trying to save a local one, one of the few postwar Fords I'd mess with... if that one's solid I think I'd grab the body and put another top in it.

gotta agree with the maverick/comet roofs for 33-34 ford coupes, mustang and big early 70's gm product roofs also make great door skins for alot of early cars.
