Event Coverage Floyd VA Swap Meet - Barn Find

They say it took them 5 hours to pull the girl out of the barn. So what is it ???

Saturday June 4th there will be a sizable car show and live music. Mountains abound in a 360 degree view...!!!!!!

Yep, a 28-29 Ford A that some farmer turned into something he could use on his farm. It was somewhat common for them to do that back in the day.

I told you there were MOUNTAINS here....

 

Looks to be a roadster cowl. Hopefully it'll get to be a hot rod soon! This would make a great start!

 

This was a factory contraption.... company was known as PULL FORD.

 

Pretty cool conversion. Can it be swapped back to tires and run around as is. I'd put some seat belts on the tractor seats though, they'll bounce you right out.

 

Ok, I want to know...where is here? If you don't need to know the secret hand shake to find out. Does this swap meet happen often?

Next show in August. I drove 4 hours and loved every minute of my stay in the mountains. Last nights lightning show in the mountains was better than most movies these days...!

First impressions... was talking with the man refreshing the trashcans in the morning, nice fellow... turns out he owns the farm the festival is sitting on. He put a LOT of effort and thinking into this venue, lots of small details done right. Very happy as a vendor who drove 4 hours. They have music festivals here all summer. Had live music during Saturday's car show. The hospitality here this weekend has bumped this event up to my top favorites list. Oh.... look this up on a satellite map... sits next to a private salvage yard with old iron... oh yea...!!!!!!

My friend Charlie from Sparta NC was up for York. He stopped by the house for a short visit. Talked to him about this show. He couldn't say enough about the place and the people either. Thinking more about going.

 

Drove by the neighbors place... saw a 1930's school bus and a pannel van parked outside. Here's the entrance...
