Finally got in to checking out my truck at my inlaws. 47 thriftmaster. However between my last post and this one I've moved to orlando for a new job. Was wondering if there's any good shops that could at least get it running. I checked under the hood. Engine looks clean. Will probably need new gaskets etc. And possibly if not most definitely a rebuild. Not worried about the body or interior. A few dents but not really any major rust aside from some surface.

The second question I might open a new thread. But should I bother getting the engine restored or should I do an sbc swap. If so any recommendations?

Sweet truck! IMHO I would keep it original.

I'd like to keep it original. It is missing a transmission. Her grandfather put it in his wheat truck. So I'll have to hunt for a new one. Thanks for the two recommendations. I'll definitely check em out. A couple of closer ones would be ideal. I still need to ship it from Kansas to florida though

Steinauge. I got the truck here. Looked it over and did a little research and ended up getting it to start. Got new plugs fuel pump fuel and oil filter and it didn't even think twice about starting. Not bad after sitting 28 years. Thanks for the offer to help.
Now if I can get the brakes to work. [emoji51]
