ok, i know its kinda geeky but does anyone know if the grey under the hood is speckle grey or solid grey? thanks!
Good news on Project X.. Chevy High Performance magazine took possession of Project X and the plan is to put it back to it glory days http://www.superchevy.com/features/...10153513345305741&adbpl=fb&adbpr=145193630740
I hope they really do put it back without compromise... by the way, I wonder what happened to the original posters clone??????
Well it does have a new 6-71 blown small block in it and they raised the back end up a bit. Of course the small block is the new B15 crate engine from G.M.
In reading the article posted by Herdez; a 57 Pontiac rear end with 5.57 gears, and a pretty stout 292 SBC engine, BUT a SAGINAW 4-speed (???) transmission. This either helps to endorse the Saginaw transmission for use in our hobby, or show us the weak link in that version of Project-X. I'm pretty certain that transmission did't make a lot of 12.50 ET runs, but even so, for an everyday, run-what-you-have transmission, the Saginaw should be fine for what most of us would expect from a 4-speed transmission. I only posted this because of the frequency we see someone asking about "how strong/good" are these transmissions. Good enough for Project-X. I am Butch/56sedandelivery
My personal choice would be to return it to the earliest version. The one with an injected 283 bored to 292, 4 speed and Pontiac rear axel. Of course anything would be an improvement over it's current state.
this pisses me off. I thought they were going to return it to its former glory? they put a god damned LS motor in it? WTF????
AC.... With a blower... WTF, How to F' it up yet.. Again! How can you not feel like this ol' gal, Is not getting passed around like a cheap piece of ass...Geezuzzz... Krazy I was just talking about it in the film an YouTube'd the "pull it over asshole" clip. Before I jumped on here..
The holes in the front fenders make me hurt. Only Shelby Cobras are supposed to have the exhaust come through the body. Blech!
This car has been around the block and through the wringer for decades. It's been hot rodded, street rodded, drag raced, street raced, blown up by celebrities, pro- toured, e- built, brought back to a hot rod. What a life. Like it or hate it, this one 57 Chevy has been through more than any other. All in the limelight for all to see and criticize. For most of it's life it has been really cool. Let's focus on that and hope it's future will be an inspiration much like most of it's past.
