Good evening - - Does anyone out there know what the shaft size is for a Chevy denso alt. ?? I like the size and thinking about one for my flathead. Thanks Pat

  2. Hi Pat just had a look at the new Chevy Denso 1 wire alt I am fitting to my Flathead and it is 15mm or 6/10th of an inch I am using the Chevy pulley but have had it machined to fit the wider flathead belt size, I have removed the gen mount from my offy 3 carb manifold and it mounts in line with the carbs and I am using truck water pumps with the twin pulleys and only using the one forward belt this works but could be hung offset over a head for stock belt Cheers

Alt on a flathead ? Looks ain't there ! But function is 100x better . Shouldn't be any problem to have a shiv machined if that is the only way

I split the pulley on a chevy alt and put a spacer between the two halves for a wider belt on my flathead. Seems to work just fine.
