Hi Guys, I am doing research on my first potential project, a 1953 Willys Pickup. From what I understand from another forum, Edmunds made speed equipment for the Willy 226 Super Hurricane. Do any of you 226 experts know if they made any parts other the intake for the 226? If so, what are they?

I distinctly recall a small race boat with Willys 4 banger and an Edmunds finned aluminum head & dual 1 bbl. carb manifold. Wico mag, and CRUDELY welded headers, looked like galvanized water pipe. (well, it WAS a boat!)
Edmunds equipment always got my attention, for its widely spaced fins, husky look.
I observed 'fast stuff' there from age 8 to 13, was always welcome to 'listen and learn'...

Boat was in the service area of the Dabbs & Brawley garage, across the street from my house.
Lots of local rods, race boats & motorcycles stopped in there for repairs, Wayne Brawley was a smart head.
They were in business since '46, moved to El Camino Real address in '55...

Thanks for the information Mike! I'll keep an eye out for a head as well. I imagine these will be pretty difficult to find but, I am up to the challenge. Thanks again, Eric the Badger

There was a head and intake and also I believe Mallory made a distributor for it. Don't forget the 54 Kaiser could have a supercharger from the factory on the 226.

There is also I believe a finned aluminum oil pan out there and the 6 in the old supercharged grahams is a close relative that had split exhaust manifolds. The engine had a long life it's an old Continental design I remember we had one in a forklift at work too.

Thanks guys! I am aware of the Kaiser Supercharger made by McCulloch. That would be a cool part to find! I didn't know about the distributor or oil pan. Thanks a bunch, you guys have been very helpful. The other forum I am a member of is Willys forum but, they are mostly restoration purist or hard core off-roaders. Not much for the vintage speed crowd. This newbie greatly appreciates your help!

You should join the Kaiser -Frazer owners club you could find a supercharger pretty quickly through them and find other parts and info you may need.
