I've been building mostly Model A's for the last dozen years or so and decided it was time for something new.. I've always like 64/65 Falcon hardtops and remember when they came out(was a junior in H.S.).. This is a 289 3spd but have a toploader 4spd to put in it.. Would like to see any other Falcon hardtops.. I feel like I'm back in high school, well, maybe not... 100_3694 (1).JPG 100_3697 (1).JPG 100_3700 (1).JPG

Should be a fun car, looks like it is in pretty good condition both inside and out.

That looks like a ton of fun...I really like those fastbacks. I would rather have one of them than a Mustang from the same year.

I can't decide if I want to jack it up a bit or lower it down a bit.. I'm looking at all the pics I can find to decide on the best stance...

I had a '64 4 speed car, and a '65 that was sold unfinished about 20 years ago, never got over them. It was a bucket list car for me, so I did a package deal last year and bought 2 of them!:rolleyes: And to think my wife thinks I'm nuts...:D

    My 2 cents worth.

Just a little, if you do anything.

    Edit
I looked at it again, I think it's perfect.

Yeah, just a little lower rear. Those stock wheels and caps make it look like a " sleeper". Maybe just larger tires in the rear too. IMHO

Personally, I like them with the upper character line on the side of the body level or slightly nose high. So I would say drop the rear a tad, and raise the nose.

Sweet Car. I keep thinking one of those would be a great daily commuter car. If it were mine I'd have a little less rake, and either period Americans or Cragars. Congrats - great find.

What ach said...install the 4 speed and enjoy. Leave the stance alone as it is perfect.

Looks like it was a radio delete car at one point. I'd get an original steering wheel , horn ring and leave it alone.

    Nice car.

May as well mention it here, I have a pair of 14x6 Fenton Hustlers for the front of mine, looking for a pair of these center caps.

I have a 65 Falcon hardtop I brought up from Tenn., I hope to get to it soon. I had a 64 Comet H.T. with a 4-spd toploader, I just loved the way that trans could take a beating , and listening to the gears whine is simply gearhead music!

I really love the '64 Comet HT's, I think probably the best body style to come out of that '64/'67 styling period, bar none. When I was a kid in elementary school, I knew where there was a white on red 289 auto '64 Caliente parked under a tree in a yard, trans was pooched. I used to go look at that car and covet it. Looking back, it was a practically new car then. Some time later, a buddy of mine bought it, and did a nice resto on it.

A friend of mine (RIP Terry) had a "survivor" 64 Calente convertible, 289/auto, red/red,
white top, nice car. Those had their own suspension pieces and man were they hard to find replacement parts for.

I like the Comets too but they have a 5.5" longer wheelbase and are almost 13" longer than same year Falcon.. My garage is wider than deeper and I wanted the shortest I could find.. I would like to have a 64 or 65 Comet Hardtop however...

Uncanny, that's near identical to the car my friend's father owns. He's had his since the early 80's I believe.

I would love to have an 8000 rpm rotunda tach for mine, but they are T-bolt stuff, CRAZEE money...
