Can anyone out there help me with an engine code? V0526EBM from what i can find online the V=Flint 05=May 26=26th...but EBM is a suffix i haven't found yet. it's possible this is an industrial 350 out of a Massey combine, but i'm not certain. Thanks
Without some more info to at least narrow it down to a decade, it's hard to say. The three letter suffixes started in 1970, could be anything....they are still making them... Pictures? casting date code and casting number from the back of the block, above the bellhousing area? partial VIN from the same area as the number you already posted?
You already know what it is and what it's from. What new information do you hope to gain? The cam is probably wrong from street use? is it a core or do you want to run it as -is?
Casting number 3970010. I'm just interested to know what it is that I have. It's running and driving in our model A RPU. We were in our first car show over the weekend and people asked about the source for the engine. Some discussion came up about the suffix possibly being an industrial motor. 3970010 is a basic 350 style 4-inch bore casting, but to narrow it down better you still need the casting date, which is located on the bellhousing, opposite side from the casting number. 3970010 is a good block, some were 4-bolt, but most are 2 bolt.
Does it have the partial VIN stamp next to the stamped code you posted? If not, then it could be an industrial engine....??? The block casting number was used from 1969 to 1979, mostly on truck engines, and the truck suffixes in the 70s almost always started with the letter T. The E thing is weird, and could be an industrial engine. Either way, it's a good story, so don't let the facts get in the way of telling it... (and almost every 010 block I've seen is a 4 bolt)

can't help then...at least you have an idea what it is, a 350 from the late 70s (judging by the character of the stamped numbers in your picture) that was not installed in a car or truck. I guess you can make up whatever story you want for it?
