We are getting close to this shing ding! Who's coming and are there going to be any HAMB friendly gatherings? They are still moving a lot of dirt at the Fairgrounds but say its going to be ready. :/
I am planning on being there all three days with my 56 I don't know of any planned gatherings but the old school round up is a Great Place to meet Hobo Jim
I will never set foot on the N.Y. State Fair grounds after New York destroyed the Moody Mile and its 112 years history! http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/...he-mile-oval-at-the-n-y-s-fair-grouds.981395/
BTT starting to get excited going to be a Great Time staying at the host hotel stop by and say Hey Hobo Jim

Just got back from setting up a swap meet spot. Lots of changes. Swap meet/car corral now in sort of where some of the midway and the 2nd turn and backstretch were, on gravel, sort of in the middle of everything. How long that lasts, who knows, since they have it tagged as "future building area" on NYSF maps. Same tiny spaces and there was no pre-registration this year. Same people in charge. I didn't go nuts bringing much more stuff than I would to any other local show, I lost my little wedge that I used to use because they couldn't sell it as a vendor spot. I also hear they added more curbs and will not allow cars to park on grass, which means Chevy Court and the area south of it that used to be full of cars will have who knows what. But half the former infield is now paved and they could put rows and rows of cars there, I suppose, going to be hotter than blazes walking through them though, not a bit of shade anywhere out there. I agree that it was terrible for King Cuomo and Jester Joanie to destroy the place and I wouldn't go either but I usually turn a decent sum of money selling there and my credit card company doesn't care about the race track. That said, I will only do the two events I'm a vendor at and no more. No reason to go to The Fair at all. Every food vendor and other building that surrounded the track is gone. Poof. Including at least one set of bathrooms, which is insane. So it wasn't just the track tradition they did away with. They couldn't even bring in a row of porta-johns, if you're out in the paved area inside where the track was, plan to go at least 100 yards to hit the toilet.
