This here is just a reminder to wear them seatbelts. Wife and I were sitting in traffic today in my work truck Ole' Blue. Wife loves the new Mustangs and we're sitting behind a nice black GT and she's oogling about it. The next thing we knew Ole' Blue was slammed up against the 'Stang. A young lady driving a Cavalier slammed into my `93 Ranger at about 50 mph. There was no evidence that she even hit the brakes. The force totaled my truck (desroyed the box, diamond the frame etc.), when we were pushed against the Mustang it knocked off it's bumper and bent the *** end down, then the Mustang slid forward and knocked the bumper down on another pickup in front. I have no idea why the girl that hit us did'nt get killed. She was'nt belted in and her head slammed the windshield, broke it and she bounced back. I think she's gonna make it, thank God. My wife and I are OK just a little banged up. Moral of the story, ya just never know, wear seatbelts or install them if you don't have em. God Bless.

  2. Sorry to hear about the truck and accident but I'm glad you and the wife are OK.

I never go anywhere without my seatbelt on. All my old cars have them and they always will. I've been in a few wrecks, some my fault, some not but never once though could I tell when I started the car that it would end in a wreck.

  3. Too bad Darwin didnt get the girl, glad you and yours are allright. Cellphone perhaps? Driving used to be a serious thing, people dont give a **** anymore.

  4. Well 'ya know a 1993 Ranger could be a good donor for engine,trans,etc....to build a project with.....hmmmmm.........how about a 27 T roadster with a hood on it - no fenders or running boards......:D Gary 4T950 Chevy Guy

Man that ****s. Be sure to get checked out by a Doctor. I was in a minor accident about a year and a half ago. At first I wasnt going to even bother to go see the Doc but was forced to. It turned out I have a partially herniated/bulging disc in my neck. Dont mess around.

I'm pretty sure a young guy got manslaughter for killing two people while texting and driving. ****** things should be banned in cars. even a fine of $160 doesnt stop people!

that's one of the main reasons i like runnin straight pipes,...see some *** yakkin on the phone, not payin attention to what they're doing, roll up along side them all quiet like, then just when your back bumper gets to their window, downshift, dump the clutch in third gear and scare the living **** outta them with machine gun fire!:D

some days, i wear the tag "***hole" with pride.

I was hit last year in the rear end with four people in my car last year by
A guy on a cell. We all had seatbelts but that wont help much on a rear end collision. Rear head restraints would have helped alot of neck pain we had.
Make sure your head restraint is up as far as possible.
Glad to hear everyone was alright.

    yah, DEFINATELY get checked out.

couple years ago, my dad, his g/f, and me were in his cadillac and got rearended by a neon. i thought i was fine because i had no pain or anything, but now i have to live with neck pain from it because they cannot find anything wrong with it and they wont give me pain medicine because i am so young :(

o yah, it also broke dad's g/f's hip...well, rebroke it, was still healing from an accident several years ago.

Yeah, CT just ins***uted a no-handheld mobile phone law last October, and I probably see two dozen people every day on my commute -- each way -- talking with their phone up to their ear! Where're the coppers when you need 'em??

Rearending is never fun (at least the automotive kind ;) ). Couple years ago I got rearended TWICE in one day, on my way to work. After being hit fpr the second time inside of an hour, I had to check to make sure somebody hadn't put the "KICK ME" sticker on my back bumper.

Fortunately, they were both low-speed affairs with no injuries or damage to the car, though the second one threw my digital camcorder into the front wall of the trunk, breaking it (which I didn't realize till a few weeks after the fact.... ).

Henry -- glad you and the missus are OK. God bless the seatbelt!

  16. Sorry to hear about the truck, hope your wife is OK, whiplash ****s.

Did the Cavalier's windshield have a hole in it about the size of a cell phone next to the dent from her head? Pinellas plates? Either would explain the no braking thing.

They actually have fines for cell phone use while driving down under? that's great!

The wife and I were going down the road today and a cop came by in the other lane on, guess what? " A cell phone" I told the wife we need a picture of this. She said she listens to the scanner and the dispatcher is allways telling them she has a call for them, they use some number I don't remember what it is, but you can bet it's a cell phone call.

I hope all involved are OK.

Glad you're OK- but definitely go see a doctor. I just had to add this- yesterday I pulled up behind a car with a "driving school" signboard on the roof-and yep, a young girl behind the wheel, on a cellphone- wish I had my camera...

  22. You won't hurt until the next day, can expect to be stiff and sore at the least. These broads on the phones are crazy, I rode somewhere with my mom to help her pick some things up and this girl in a late Gran Prix rides our ***, whips out to the left lane, p***es, just about cuts us off and a car in the right lane so she can get back over to exit to get to the traffic light 5 seconds faster. As she's pulling back we ended up getting beside her enough for me to see she has a cell phone laying on the middle of the wheel so she can dial a number on it - instead of having the BF beside her dial.

Makes me want to put a big spike on the back of my truck, about windsheild height for a car, with a sign on it that says something witty about being a cellularly-impaired driver repellant.
