Hi everyone, I have a 54 Country Squire in UK and need to buy a complete set of front and rear suspension rubber / bushes to refurbish the car.
This needs to include all the control arm bushes / tie rods, sway bar bushes etc

Could any give me either a set of part numbers that I can get from Summit / one of major car part chains or point me in the direction of someone who can supply a complete kit?

No option of going to my local auto store (or even the Us spe******ts here)!!

    cheers

PST may have a kit for your car. Beware of the kits from the restoration vendors, all made in China and India. Kanter is made over seas as well. I would look up the Moog part numbers to see what they have.

Dennis Carpenter has the rebuild parts. They used to carry USA-made front end rebuild parts...don't know if that's still the case. They will tell you if they are though....if you call them.

Mac's will not discuss the origin of their parts, so I don't buy rubber from them.

There was an update from the file we had "1954 Ford IFS Rebuild" rubber suspension parts from Dennis Carpenter were cracking in less than a year in service many of their parts are Chinese rubber. :( Several people have had their motor mounts separate also. This costs more than some others listed, they claim a higher quality of rubber http://www.ebay.com/itm/Performance...ash=item4d375057c2:g:y94AAOSwjVVV4PlW&vxp=mtr It may be a good idea to treat the rubber with this: http://www.goldeagle.com/product/303-automotive-protectant to prevent UV degradation.

Rubber... I have new Monroe shocks on the back of my '59, 1.5 years and zero miles, garaged all the while. The rubber insulators show signs of cracking. My Coucours sourced ball joints... split boot on one of the lowers. Almost like you have to buy the product with the caveat that you are going to have to get the rubber parts from a place like Energy Suspension.

The Energy Suspension sway bar links and bushings are listed in the "universal" section,I also replaced all the tie rod dust boots with their products. They do have the shock bushings listed http://www.energysuspension.com/universal-products.html Wish they made control arm bushings, since early '55-57 T-Birds share the same bushings I tried looking for those in poly,so far no luck. There was a guy on Y-blocks forever that made them but quit several years ago.

I was in a pinch and needed a tie rod boot as well on a Saturday, car apart on the driveway. Local Pep Boys had the Dorman Help display which had the boots. Pep Boys also has an Energy Suspension ***ortment, but no loose boots.

Thanks guys much appreciated, we suffer from cheap Chinese imported parts on this side of the pond too!

And thanks for the links provided, I'll search them out

All good stuff but the '54 wagons have a thicker sway bar. HRP

I went with Kanter for the front suspension rebuild kit on our wagon and I'm very happy with the ride and steering. HRP

The influx of offshore parts has found its way into Kanter Parts too,HRP got his several years back sadly nothing stays the same.
