Building a fender-less rat roadster, using 1935 Ford wire wheels. I know I need the spacers to support wheels. Width of rim is 4" and I want to go wider with tires for a more aggressive look. What's the max safe tire tread width on these rims?

    I am running a 700 x 16 , 6ply lite truck tire with tube on rear , 550 x 16 front
    I also have a pair 235 70 16 R that I can change to for rear and 205 70 16R for front

    a 7.00x16 has a wider cross section than a 7.50x16

and if you want to retain the nut-sack you were born with, don't use the rat word ever again here
