Features Kustoms blues? I need to see some kustoms....

One of the kool blessings that I have experienced over the years is being part of the Kustom family. Also thankful for being a member of Kustom Kemps of America and going to their events. Going to KKOA shows I have met a lot of kool people. John Tretten is one of those Kats and he took the following kool pics of another Kustom family member Danny Cuellar's 56 Chevy. She is timeless...

You're right Straykat, it is nice to be part of the kustom family. John Tretten is a great guy and one of my best friends. Talk about a custom and lowrider nut, and that is John. Never afraid to jump in a car and drive cross country to see the latest and the greatest, and his pictures are always top notch.
Danny is also a great guy. He is so laid back and mellow. He reminds me a lot of members of my family that unfortunately are no longer here.
Got to hang out with him and John at the Leadsled two years ago and we had a great time--despite the 100+ degree temps.
All the custom car shows are great, and it's a treat to see new builds and re-discover old ones, but it's always about the people. Catching up with folks you only get to see once a year or every other year is the best part of all! E

 

That's a great looking car. I have not seen it before. '56's are my least favorite of the tri-5's, but I really love the Lincoln grille and bumper on there...great choice.

Here's the only pic we have ever found of my dad's first car in '57....'51 4dr Merc nosed, decked and '53 Chevy grille. Not a great pic, since the car is actually in the background, but it's the best we got. Dad is on the right with a friend sitting in front of my grandparents "cabin" summer of '57.

'60 Buicks are about as close to factory custom as it gets. Few autos have ever had such a sculptured body!
In addition, every detail, (lights, grille, bumpers, etc.) is a perfectly appointed work of styling art. Outside of a little clean up, frenching the lights (front and rear) and stance, I see very little that needs to be done!

 

You can't at all go wrong with Hub's Buick. I keep dreaming someday it would end up in my garage, but of course I dream a lot of foolish dreams. LOL

 

I dream of his son's Stude Dave!

This type of tail light works with this car . A lot of times the builder drops the tail light too much or just make a straight line from the body line to the tail light . This one flows . Great job to the builder . Thats my .02 I'm just a wanabe .
