I just recently scored a cool 1946 truck cab with a chop. Just wonering if anybody ever fit one on a 32 ch***is. There will only be a bed, cab and grill. thanks Guys
I take it you mean a new reproduction '32 ch***is? You wouldn't want to do that to an original. This gets done a lot. Just look up pictures on google. You might prefer to use a '33-'34 frame. It'll get you lower and you'll have a bit more space. Also these are a lot easier and cheaper to find than a '32. An original '33-'34 frame is also quite a bit stronger.
I will explore the 33 34 frame idea. I only thought a 32 because there are so many. I don't think the cab is much wider than a 32 to 34 cab. It is just more round.
It's definitely wider. May not look it. But if you had them side by side then you would see it. Sent from my SM-G900T using H.A.M.B. mobile app
39-40 brings new problems though for the type of vehicle he wants to build. Specifically the spring in front of axle front end. Also both crossmembers drop down a lot. It'd be more work getting a 40 frame so sit right than getting the cab to fit the 33. I love the 39-48 frames and use them a lot, but I blow them apart and modify the hell out of them.
Can you put some pictures up of your 46 frame. I'm building mine and could use some original pictures. Thank you.
