Who has found a leather couch and cut it up for your interior? I've got some seats from a king ranch but can't find any material that matches , looking on Craig's list I found a large wrap around couch that is pretty close to matching. If you've done this please post pics and the best way to accomplish this goal. Thanks

If it's any of the couches I've sold second hand, don't use a black light inside your car.

It's been done in several car mags recently, can't say the names here. looks great. Big swatches of leather are big swatches of leather. Aged and soft even better. I have an old singer, goes right through it.

    Very bad idea.
The leather on most furniture is NOT good quality leather and will not stand up to automotive upholstery use for very long.
The majority of the leather furniture sold is made offshore and there is a good reason why the couches are advertised as free many times.
    They just aren't worth much.
The leather in most furniture chain couches made offshore is a cheap thin kind of leather called bonded leather.
Real good quality leather is only used by a few manufacturers and is on expensive high end furniture.
Another thing that you might get with your "free" couch could be all the bedbugs you can carry. :D

Apologies I think the pics were taken by our old friend Otto Focus.
We got lucky and found an old 7ft long leather seat from a billiard hall both base and back for our 32 3w. Repurposed it , old so quality is not an issue.
we may even have enough left for a pickup seat. We do have some old tuck n roll leather our friendly upholstery guru gave us from a vintage car recover job also.
Now we have enough old brown tuck n roll to upholstery the whole 32 pickup.

Really, really old leather which stood the test of time is your best bet but maybe a little hard to find.

Thanks it would need to be cleaned and conditioned. Just want to use it for door panels and dash.

In a former life I sold furniture. Most sofas are leather matched meaning the back and sides are made out of the skin of Naggas. Also, it is surface dies not aniline died, meaning it is not died all the way through, aniline died leather is the same color from top to bottom. If you can find a good Italian leather sofa like Natuzzi you got something but those aren't typically for sale on craigslist.

I'm holding out for the "Plush Corinthian Leather".

1467478210691.jpg I had these made out of a clubchair my sister wanted to get rid of. Have held up really well.

The church across the street threw out an OLD love seat. I snagged it and I'm no expert but the quality of the leather looks great. I have enough to do my whole roadster interior

I used high end interior leather with the distressed look on my roadster. Don't care how careful you are, you're going to get caught out in the rain at one time or another. After some shrinkage, I killed a couple of Naugas and replaced the leather with a distressed look Naugahyde that actually looks better than the leather. DSC02855.JPG

Stay away for the cheap leather furniture. Good chance it is bonded leather, which means a very thin layer of leather bonded to a backing material. I would look for a once expensive piece. Leatherrenew.com sells a kit to die leather. It does a decent job IMO.
