I have an Edmonds 2x2 intake for one of my hemi's but I can't figure out what carbs fit the intake. I have carried it around at the swapmeets and can't find any to fit and know one has known yet. Any help is appreciated.

  2. Like you, I don't have a clue. But it should be easy to make some adapters for Stromberg or Rochester two barrels. If you find original carbs they may be too much trouble to rebuild.

That's a pretty early intake...I would say before 4 barrel carbs were out and mainstream...like possibly before 1954....so I would say to narrow down your search..look for carbs between 1950 to 1954...good luck...and let us know..ok?

I think some of the Edmunds were designed to run two of the OEM carbs.

That looks like the same intake I'm running on my 1954 331 hemi. Mine was marked underneath 54 CHRY. You need a pair of Carter WCD carbs, as originally used on early hemis. . I have had a hard time finding them with the large Chrysler style base. But they are big 2 barrels, and feed the engine well. If you adapt to smaller Rochester or Stromberg carbs they will look puny on the mighty Chrysler Hemi! HEMI DODGE.jpg

It looks like adapters for a couple of Holly 2300's would be easy to make.
It would result in 700 or 1000 cfm.

Later carbs will save a bucket of cash; I'd be looking at the Holley 2-bbl as used on the Mopar 360 and 400,
1972-1980 or so. You'll find that they share the same bore spacing so you only need to re-drill the top of the manifold.

...Or if you want to step up two of the new Stromberg Super 97's with 250CFM each would be neat. Spendy, but neat.!

Luke, The WCD's look good up there, and turn up on ebay from time to time. I bought one there for $45, put a kit in it, and am running it just fine. The other from a swap meet. Check inside where the water hoses went to be sure it's not rotted thru. I capped those water ports with brass plugs.

That's a nice rare hi-rise hemi manifold you got there, they turn up on ebay once in a while, north of $1000. They look much better than the Weiand's and Hot Heads intakes you see on most hemis.

The Edmunds for my Desoto has that base too. I have a pair of orginal carbs, but am more of a '97 guy so will probably use those with some adapters. Here's a pic of my manifold with some 97's just set on there.

I am putting this early Low Deck Desoto Edmunds 2x2 on a 341" tall deck in my '32 using Rochester 2GC carbs and spacers I designed. I think it will work well. Should be out next year.

I have a pair of Rochester running both as primaries on my 322 Nailhead and it runs and feels pretty strong.

Looks good. Is the Edmunds the only multi -carb manifold available for a DeSoto hemi? I have a 330 and besides this, I have only seen a rare OEM 2x4

Attached is a pick of my Edmund’s Oldsmobile intake with Carter wcd’s which is what these manifolds were designed for. You can see the difference in the bolt spacing between this and what 36dodgeram posted so be aware when of this when making your purchase.

Nope. I've had mine for 30 years. Don't see any reason to sell it now.
