Hope you don't mind me stretching the rules by a year.
After getting my Suburban in the early 90's, I started grabbing any GM literature at swap meets whenever I could find it.

image.jpeg Here's one for the 1956 FOMOCO line. For some reason Ford kept options to a minimum rarely showing an outside mirror or antenna. I keep this one for display because of the Victoria's colors.

I believe this was the only car to grace the cover of MAD Magazine. February of 1957. My dad would not allow a copy in the house. My brother and I hid them. image.jpeg

HRP - Cutaway drawings are the best! Also artist's renditions for factory brochures often show cars lower and wider than ''actual size''. Like a guide how to customize them. upload_2016-6-29_19-54-56.png

Here's a cutaway of the fuelie, not the 283 HP. That is if what we're looking at is a hydraulic lifter.

  25. Just an F.Y.I. I have a computer paper box full of this stuff. I know there's no '40's or '50's. Plenty of '60's stuff and up to the '90's. Also have a box of glove box manuals. Would like to sell or trade the stuff for something??

Did you notice that in most of the brochures that are drawings the cars look to have a slight roof chop.
Obviously that's how they were meant to be.
Hot rodders and customisers are just following the instructions.
