Sorry no before pictures. While building my garage last year, I envisioned adding a 6x12 or so storage room on the side of the garage. Late last year it grew to 6x24. Shopping at Lowes I came across two boxes (40 sq ft. each) of 5/16 prefinished solid oak flooring, for 5 bucks a box! (This stuff sells for about 300 a box...) This staurday I picked up 6 sheets of sheetrock for 3.00 @. The table is removable, which used to be 4 gauge wire spool. On top is another 5 buck laminate flooring top. Which I must say looks great. A few more stops at Lowes and I should have enough sheetrock to finish the ceiling. So a total of around 350.00 invested and I have a killer room to relax and sip some suds. Plus a decent storage room. Oh ya, frig was free. My daughter calls it her Dance room. I will not be adding any balarena stuff. I do have a stack of mirrors though.....
You have a stack of mirrors, and a bare ceiling... Next time you go to the Home store, take a detour to a furniture store and get a sleeper sofa on the cheap, and you're all set! -Brad
Man, I get so jealous of you guys that live in parts of the country that allow common folk to have land to build things like this..... Here in San Jose CA, I feel lucky to have a standard two car garage and I just crave more room..... My wife wont let me convert the family room into an extended garage, so i guess i've got to appreciate what i have -scott noteboom
Well, would it make you feel better if you knew the City doesn't know about it,.... yet??? When i had my final inspection, the inspector asked my what I planned on doing with the garage door on the side. Told him I was building a lean-to and not to worry, I wasn't planning on calling him. He chuckled. He was pretty cool he actually knew a guy I bought some parts from. Mirrors on the ceiling? and it's at an angle?? Sounds like I need a black light, disco ball and some 70's porn music..... Bac, bac-a-bow, bac-a-bow-wow.. I'll post progress pics.....
Neat way to be a scrounge. Shop the clearance area at Loew's and Home Depot. Inventive, creative AND it saves money. Great room!!! You definately need more beer. Actually you need beer. Whoever calls Corona "beer", well they need lessons in what is real beer. (Way to go Phil start a drama, flame war, he said to the image in the mirror). Most people here would suggest PBR. Me I'd suggest SF Anchor Steam Beer. But discussing beer preferences is like discussing hot rod or tool preferences. To each his own. Please take no offense, I'm on muscle relaxers for my back and my brain is relaxed also.
Cool Room! Now you have a place to hang those old beer posters from your college days, If you don't have any, I have a butt load I would donate! If that is not acceptable, you can put up the stolen street signs that all hot rodders have. Unless they have been welded into the floor pan of a project car over the years. CRAB
Look`s like I`m gonna have to bring something to fill the void in the white box! Been tied up with a bunch of crap, more than ready for a football head!
Hey Farmall Pete! whatever happened to you! Did you still have those wheels we talked about? After I told you I didn`t work at the muffler shop anymore, I never heard from you again!
Looks like a good home for a grease monkey! Needs a motorcycle right in the middle of it to rest your feet up on.... Nah, A mirror is good to have in the garage. I've got the old bathroom mirror. I use it to see if that thing that's been buggin my eye is anything to worry about and to check for grease on the back side of the elbows before going back in the "Girl Room"
