    Good Afternoon!

Thanks in advance for helping a gal out!

I am pretty much at the end of my new wiring harness...the last thing I need to do is hook up my sending unit to my gas gauge which is giving me a problem because I don't know why none of it's working on which end. I have to do a test on them later and hopefully it goes well!!

I have a photo of my gas gauge on the back of it there are three holes I do not know which wire goes to which hole it is not labeled has anyone seen this before?

I'm wondering if maybe nothing is working because the wires are possibly not hooked up correctly to the gas gauge?

Chrysler Corp. wagons in the '50s used different sending units & were wired differently from other body styles, if it helps any.
Old Car Manual project should have diagram.

This is the one time Google has actually failed me! I cannot find anything about it.. I did look at the wiring schematic for my vehicle that I found and I traced the wires in different colors on the schematic ..but it's a silly diagram and doesn't really show you which one goes where, I feel like if I'm holding the gauge the wrong way vs. the diagram I'm going to ruin something.

  5. okay....first a plug for those guys that sale shop manuals for old cars....some of these guys at swap meets only sale them - always try and buy one for what car/truck I've bought - looking at a pic on the web just doesn't always do it....here's a manual I bought for my 56 Fury which isn't so much in it as it was a late model out in January of 1957...

  6. okay...here's what they have in the manual....the wagon is a separate beast - maybe just because or they were looking to keep some fumes down as it was a wagon and kids back then rode in the back.....

  7. wish ya luck...this from the Plymouth manual but hopefully the Dodge is the same....did read I think you have a 56 fuel unit for your 55 ? maybe - hopefully the same as a 55 - I know the wagon unit just goes with the wagon - they went from 6 volt positive ground for 1955 to 12 volt negative ground for 1956

thank you for this :) I'm going to try and see what happens. I might have to drop the 50.00 and buy a service manual

I've got a five gallon can in my trunk that's almost always half empty! [emoji23]

Took me about two days to unload the stuff I had stored in 'er.....best thing found was my old train set - which it and the car were at my mom's house....did the floors in 'er in the months after my mom passed in about 1998....trunk is actually not real bad considering the back window mess...and then my 56 went off to storage as we settled the estate.
