    Hey guys,
Anyone have any tips, tricks, or pics of tools for removing the power valve discharge tubes from the body of a stromberg 97? I've got one that is clogged beyond recognition and it needs to be replaced. Tried soaking, reaming with a wire and 95psi but the clog won't budge. I would like to know if there is a way to finesse these things out rather than find someone with Popeye forearms to just yank them and hope for the best.

    Thanks

No easy way to get em out. Sometimes they'll pull straight out, sometimes they break off. Sometimes the collars come out with the tubes, sometimes they don't.
When the collars are stubborn, I drill them just deep enough for a small easyout.
Replacing them's a snap with a slotted punch I made up.
    Good luck...

Thanks uncle max. Needed that ok nod to just yank 'em. They came out nice with a combo of needle nose locking pliers and slide hammer. Found some small diameter bar stock to make a notched install tool also. But that's for tomorrow cause now it is beer o'clock.

I removed one discharge tube and the collar remained behind. Should I remove the collar (does it pull out?) as it seems it would be easier to reinstall with the collar already on the tube.

Replying to myself here....I polished the end of the discharge tube a bit with a Scotchbrite, slightly wet it with sewing machine oil, and was able to wiggle the tube back in place using a pair of curved hemostats. The collar never came out nor did it look like it wanted to. You can feel the tube hit bottom when it is all the way in.
