I would appreciate any pictures of setups . I have a 1960 Chevy,6cyl engine, that I want to add under dash A/C to . I want to see how Others did it in the engine compartment; like how they ran the hoses, compressor, etc. I have an Alan Grove bracket Thanks in advance
The compressor with a dual groove pulley mounts where the factory generator did and an alternator mounts directly above it. The crank pulley turns the compressor and the other groove on the compressor turns the alternator (belt not on in photo) . Works fine. Pics are of a 57 Chev 3100 pickup with a 235.
It should actually do real well with a modern compressor. They don't eat near as much torque to run as they compressors of the day. It still won't jack rabbit from a stop light, but it already didn't do that.
I'm really not trying to hi-jack your thread, but have you thought about using one of the new electric A/C compressors as an alternative? I am curious how those work out if anyone has experience with them. I too have a 223 I-6 in my '56 Ford F100 and I have been wondering about hiding an electrical compressor so it doesn't show nor lug down the engine...but until our friends at Vintage Air give it their blessing, I won't be gambling on the investment.

Buffalo fixed me up with a 2 groove harmonic balancer and a A/C bracket that mounts on the p***enger side of my 235
