I may have located a B intake. I am leaning more that way due to the fact that I want all around driveability. I'll shelf the tripower until I get mre time to sort it all out.

I am curious what the linkage looks like from the firewall forward. I am probably gonna run an Edelbrock 500 with a manual choke.

I made mine from 1/4" rod and heim ends. The rod I got at Menard for about $10 for 3'. And the heim joints were 1/4x20 x1/4. With the cost of the die to thread the rod I have maybe $25 in the whole thing.

Thats the way I do my earlier stuff, but I have been shying away from converntional mechanical linkage. That's probably what I will end up with though.

I made mine from either 5/16" or 3/8" aluminum rod and some Mr. Gasket linkage ends that have 1/4-28 studs on them and a matching jam nut. Figure the whole dealie ran me $20 and I have 3' of aluminum rod left over. Actually the Mr. Gasket ends may have been female and I used threaded rod to connect them.

I used the complete Lokar pedal and cable setup for my 55 with B manifold and Holley carb. A no brainer. Works a treat. Bought it from Amazon and felt like I almost stole it for what it cost me posted to Australia.

Not a great picture, but you can kinda see mine here. I just used some 1/4" heims and a rod between the stock firewall pivot arm and the linkage, some 1/4" bolts, and a couple of 1/4" ID spacers to move the arm away from the carb to clear the linkage and return spring.

I hooked mine up to the large hole on the linkage using a 1/2" to 1/4" aluminum carb linkage bushing that I got on ebay for around $5. Full range of motion using the stock pedal, no binding or other issues.
