just a quick question, anyone know how low the rear of a '56 Buick Special will lay with a stock rear end on fully deflated bags?
a deflated bag takes up about an inch and a half of space, if you can set the car up on jackstands under the frame, and remove the springs then jack up the rear end till it touches either the frame or the body then that is how low a good experienced installer can set you up to drop without notching or cutting your body. or just measure how far you have before you bottom out then measure from the ground up to your lowest point
sorry to make a long story short, if you have 6" before you bottom out on your frame , and 7" from the ground to your lowest point then you can drop to about 1" give or take 1/2"
thanks for the reply, i know how to do it, but my car is under 4' of snow. i just wanted to know before the spring as i've been ordering parts.
8 year old zombie thread... nice.... someone here did either a '55 or '56 Buick, bagged with a truck arm rear set up.
