The plan is to put the mounts in so the engine is forward to give a bit of clearance from the firewall for the throttle linkage. The question is this: with the tremec 5 speed, what is needed for a transmission mount? Has anyone done this? If yes, can a picture be posted. I am not sure if the stock transmission cross-member can be used or not. I did find out from a supplier that there are several steel/rubber transmission mounts available but am not sure what those choices are as yet.
Thanks in advance for any guidance.

I would say use the original cross member and adapt to it if you have to. On my '59 with the GM 4-speed I had to make up an adapter plate from flat steel. One of those things you won't know until you at least mock it up.

I'm running a 302 with T5 using Falcon 260 mounts, which located the engine just perfect (for me) for clearing the firewall and using the stock throttle pivot arm. I did have to add a couple washers on each side for a little extra clearance, and I slotted the stock cross-member mount pad the same way you do for most SBF engine mounts.

I'm also using the stock trans cross-member in the stock location; all I had to do was drill some new holes and use a universal mount kit for the trans. I had to trim the bottom piece to fit inside the cross-member.
