    Hi there,

Me and my dad, rent our cars. Now our chevy engine broke down. We already bougt a 'new' running engine 6cill. Normaly my dad woud replace it but a few months ago he had a cerebral hemorrhage so I will have to swap the engine. Luckely we are able to use a engine lift. And we have a garage with the tools needed.
I think I will have to remove the grill in order to lift the engine out and the other back in at the front side. Is this the best way?
Also we leave the manual gearbox were it is. Has anyone done this before? Do you guys have any tips?

i have a V8 in mine but when i did my engine removals and such i removed the hood, grill, radiator, and radiator support.
I dont run inner fenderwells so i dont know if those'll get in the way but after removing those few things it was a straight shot for the engine and trans to come out. I've done it with just the engine before as well and it was fine.
To be fair, my truck didn't come with the I6 in it already so i can't speak on that exactly.

Grille can stay. Plenty of room.

  4. You are correct if you can lift high enough. The hood has to come off and the radiator at a minimum.

On the Raven's AD truck we drop the entire front off. We have had it off and on some many times that it is a 15 minute job for us. But to put a 6 back where one came out is easy enough without pulling everything.

    We've got a 383 Stroker in a '53 we're building right now.
Check out my Website for one I did a few years ago. (Not Hamb Appropriate).
    - Had to go with no inner fenders, to fit everything under the hood!

I am sorry, I live in Alkmaar, the Netherlands. It is our own chevy, we are the one renting to others for weddings etc.
