COE 1985 chevy dually crew cab frame? 39 gmc coe

  1. I am wondering if a 85 chevy dually frame is sufficient enough to for use with a 39 gmc coe I want to put the engine behind cab ect any feed back would be great thanks ,austin

    What I have found, generally speaking......

    The one ton C 30/3500 dually PU(w/box and fenders) have a really wide rear track width
    The R30/3500 cab/ch***is have a much narrower rear track, but a much heavier frame. They also have less "humps" in the frame.

    But yes, it will work, but depends on what you are trying to achieve. I used an '89 R30 ch***is because it was availible cheap and had the narrow rear. Kinda regret it now because of all the added weight.

    Also, you might want to check the gear ratio of the donor, changing that can add a bunch of cost to your build. And you might check the front track width of the donor, make sure the tires will be under the fenders
