Seat belt webbing

Where can I buy seat belt webbing?

I bought some seat belts from Juliano's a while back and am just now getting around to installing them. With the seat in my 59 all the way back, and the straps adjusted all the way out, the ends barely touch the floor. No, I don't have a big gut.

Anyway, I can't return the belts, but I thought I could buy new, longer webbing. The problem is that no one wants to sell it due to liability issues

there are several different lengths and colors on ebay also. The price is about a dollar a yard.

 

Can you mount the Julianos different, like with a bracket to bring the mounting point up towards the seat more?

Me personally, if I was going to put in seat belts and expect some safety from them, I would stick to the Julianos stuff. Also, check with JC Whitney, they may have stuff also.

 

I don't know if my floor is all jacked up or what, but the seat was uncomfortably close to the steering wheel, so when Abomber30 patched the floor, I had him add in extensions to the floor so I could move the seat back far enough (I'm kinda tall). 59s didn't come with seat belts, but I think they would've mounted in the area that is now under my seat. WHere I should mount them in MY car is now too far away for the belts. See my crude illustration!

 

might check into some seatbelts from an econoline van....the back row seat belts in my sisters old van were pretty long

i know they carry seatbelt webbing and all sorts of other useful goodies. They have a distribution centre in indianapolis that i know of. Check to see if they have any others in the states (i believe they are a canadian company but distribute all over north america). See if you can find a local dealer to see their catalouge, you'll be suprised with all the **** you can use from these guys.

You want to make sure you have a bit of an angle like the line coming out of the back of the seat. Something about the way the belt absorbs your weight on impact. Same with shoulder belts. If you don't have a gentle angle, they can compress your spine in an impact. With your mount under the seat it seem like they would hold your legs and not your trunk.Andover is another seatbelt mfgr. you can check.

Check ebay. I got mine for like $.50 a yard. Search for "webbing".
