I would like to take this opportunity , not to perpetuate drama, but to publicly set the record straight in order to keep tempers under control . It seems that a local charlatan has developed a ‘sour g****s’ at***ude and has misinformed some HAMB’ers here on our board by registering and then immediately slinging mud.

NUMBER 1: Everyone in our club has a hand in each other’s Hotrod. Some more than others (Not every member possess the ability to accomplish every aspect of a build by their self). No one person has ever taken total credit for any one single build. I have spoken at length with the Throttlers member in question, and he denies ever saying anything contrary, and I believe him. The quote by the local in question was taken out of context. Nothing more, nothing less.

NUMBER 2: As far as elitists.. all I can say about that is I don’t remember meeting the local in question. All of my brothers in the club are cool and open to an intelligent conversation with anyone. Notice that I stated an INTELLIGENT conversation. Everyone gets their fair share of dumb-***ess spewing “ratrod this” and “unsafe that“. I for one try to be cordial, but sometimes a person is really trying to get a rise out of you… and ya let him have it. Maybe one of us let this guy have it. Who knows.

NUMBER 3: Not one single member of our club has ever paid for any labor on a build. Everything is done by a member for a member. We are not walking wallets. We are hard-working Hotrodders . I invite ANYONE down to the shop to see first hand. Then you will have the word from the "Horse's mouth" without being a Horse's ***.

I understand you feeling the need to set the record straight. But I never thought any different of you guys because some new guy wants to try to bash ya'll. And I think that would go for anybody that knows you from here.

Take it as a backhanded compliment. As soon as anybody has a good thing, there's somebody else so jealous that they try to ruin it. Just keep on being good club brothers and friends, and let the haters hate. It's what they do.

I will step in on this just because I know what Loudpedal says is real. These guys have been a huge inspiration to me building a traditional hot rod. I have been to their shop and they all help. I may have the stupidest questions but they always offer to help me out. Eliteists (sp?) they are not, they are some of the most down to earth guys that I know.

  7. Who knows what goes through some peoples minds? Could even be his wife's friends ask her if she woke up grumpy - or - let him sleep in! Your bound to run into one once in awhile. Remember the saying "He who runs barefoot through the gr*** is bound to step in something the dog made"! But I've seen it on here before, some guys are just plain grumpy. That's the part of the world I belong to. You have to know your own worth. I like to say that my band consists of fifteen Ferraris in a world of Pintos."

  13. Loudpedal,

    I feel for ya!!!

It doesn't matter how nice you are, how cool your shop is and so on....all it takes is one guy with a stick up his A** and the rumors start. I have a local guy that COMPLETELY misunderstood something I said and ran like a little girl (no offense to women) to a friend of his (whom I was not even talking about) and said I was talking Sh*t about him and his shop!!!

Don't sweat it. It's not worth it. There are people like that in every aspect of life and they will only bring you down. It seems to me the HAMB guys know you're "good people" and that's saying something.....

Good to set the record straight, but there are **** talkers in every realm of life. Jealousy rears its ugly head, I don't think the shirts are a good idea as these people would still think they are with you.
Just build cars, choose friends wisely ignore the rest.

I've never met anyone from your club or even seen one of your cars in person (I'm on the East Coast) but what I have seen of your club's cars simply kick ***. Everyone of them.

Can't comment on a haters motives or experiences. I don't judge people by other peoples "experiences". I gotta interact for myself.

Its a shame when this kind of thing goes back and forth over and over and causes drama for good people.
I'm usually of the mind that everyone with an issue should just get together and beat the hell out of each other so we can all go back to building cars.
    :)

  22. Sounds good to me but I'm not sure how many good hell beatins I got left.:D

Truth is that someone wearing their *** for a hat showed up, we saw the corn in their pomade and let it go at that.
