I'm totally digging that catalog you posted! love the offset springs! offset axles 5" "to the left" which is backwards from the way we would say it today!

so many cool things! just the head cost about 25% of what the whole model T cost new!

Danny, go back to the farm and hunt for that valve cover. Possible swiped by someone over the years. Possibly sitting on a shelf somewhere. Good luck

There are no bolt holes for a valve cover.... & there are no oil supply line to the rockers..looks to me that you would have to oil them with an oil can from time to time.

I think that the valve cover was held on by one bolt through the top of it. And, yes, I think that you are correct that you oil the rockers with a can from time to time.

Stories like this make me want to keep my '26 roadster. It's restored except for final paint. I've currently got it for sale in the classifieds but every time I fire it up and take it for a spin it tugs on my sense of reliving the past. A post by GMC Bubba about the neat modified T he built is another source of hesitation. What's a guy to do? Too many cars too little time.;):)

That is a Frontenac T head. There was usually a serial number stamped into to the area where the valve cover sits, right above the middle exhaust port or on the other side. It will have the number T-4567 or something similar. The numbers were not stamped that deep, so it may have worn off. Other than that, the diameter of the intake port and the size of the valves is another clue. The valve cover is being reproduced , sold here.

Damn, those engines look very nice.

I was in the garage last night, I've got the head off and the pistons walls have surface rust and I've got them soaking with pb buster at this point. I also took the side cover off and seen a lot of rust on the lifters looks to be very pitted. I hope I can make this engine work.
