need pics

    I need help here I need pics of the Rudy Ramos 27 track T hat was on the cover of the 1948 June Hot Rod Magaine issue. the more pictures the better.

    anyone have anything for me? the car was a dirt track racer in the late 40's it was on the cover of the june 1948 HRM. I'm to build a close rpresenation of it. maybe somebody out knows this car? did it ride on an A frame? what parts were on the flat head? was it a flat head? etc...

    so come to find out i had the month wrong on the first post. its actually july 1948. if anyone has that issue maybe they could scan some pics of the above mentioned car?

    I have the issue but no scanner. The article says it is on a '32 frame, for what it is worth.

    It is in the book featuring the first 12 issues. You might even be able to find it at the local book store...

    Highlights from the article-
    46 Merc block
    Sharp heads and triplet intake with 97's
    Spaulding ignition
    Stelling gearbox
    Knudsen full floating rear
    Franklin steering
    550-16's up front, 700-16's out back

    The article includes some other details on the engine build, details on water pump set-up and what not. The book is pretty easy to find, but you'll only get two pages of info on this car. There are quite a few other CRA cars in there as well, though.

    I got the for $20, at Powell's Books, worth evey penny. I don't feel bad about leaving it on the work bench in the garage, like I would with my original copies.

    Sorry, I got no scanner, but I took a pic at least...

    oh thank you sooo much, sheds light on the whole car. powell books? are they only bay area? or is there some down the southern cal.

    Powell's is up on Portland, big independent book store - for when I feel like not giving money to the chain stores.

    I guess it is out of print now. Still, probably easier to find than the magazine...

    i know it doesnt show my knowage very well but does any one have any infor mation on a Spaulding ignition, Stelling gearbox, and a Knudsen full floating rear?
